The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is federal legislation which aims to help adults acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain employment, become full partners in the educational development of their children, improve economic opportunities for their family and aid in the transition to post-secondary education and training. In the state of California, WIOA learning gains generate funds to supplement programs offered by the Division of Adult Career Education (DACE) and provide funding for EL Civics and Instructional Technology initiatives. The current WIOA allocation is over 11 Million dollars.
